Note to adopters:

Lassie and Cleo and Rin Tin Tin and Toto don't show up in rescue. We don't get the elegantly coiffed, classically beautiful, completely trained, perfectly behaved dog. We get the leftovers. Dogs that other people have incompetently bred, inadequately socialized, ineffectively "trained," and badly treated. Most Rescue dogs have had it. They've been pushed from one lousy situation to another. They've never had proper veterinary care, kind and consistent training, or sufficient company. They've lived outside, in a crate, or in the basement. They're scared, depressed and anxious. Some are angry. Some are sick. Some have given up. But we are Rescue and we don't give up. We never give up on a dog. We know that a dog is a living being, with a spirit and a heart and feelings. Our dogs are not commodities, things, or garbage. They are part of sacred creation and they deserve as much love and care and respect as the next Westminster champion. So please, please don't come to rescue in the hopes of getting a "bargain," or indeed of "getting" anything. Come to Rescue to give, to love, to save a life -- and to mend your own spirit. For Rescue will reward you in ways you never thought possible. I can promise you this -- a rescue dog will make you a better person.

Going Home
By
Unknown

My family brought me home cradled in their arms
They cuddled me and smiled at me and said I was full of charm
They played with me and laughed with me and showered me with toys
I sure do love my family, especially the little girls and boys.

The children loved to feed me; they gave me special treats
They even let me sleep with them - all snuggled in the sheets.
I used to go for walks, often several times a day
They even fought to hold the leash, I'm very proud to say.

These are the things I'll not forget - a cherished memory
I now live in the shelter - without my family.
They used to laugh and praise me when I played with that old shoe
But I didn't know the difference between the old one and the new.

The kids and I would grab a rag, for hours we would tug
So I thought I did the right thing when I chewed the bedroom rug.
They said that I was out of control and would have to live outside
This I didn't understand, although I tried and tried.

The walks stopped, one by one; they said they hadn't time
I wish that I could change things; I wish I knew my crime.
My life became so lonely in the backyard, on a chain.
I barked and barked all day long to keep from going insane.

So they brought me to the shelter but were embarrassed to say why
They said I caused an allergy, and then they each kissed me goodbye.
If I'd only had some training as a little pup
I wouldn't have been so hard to handle when I was all grown up.

"You only have one day left",
I heard the worker say.
Does that mean I have a second chance?
Do I go home today?

The Old Ones
by
Unknown

One by one they pass my cage,
Too old, too worn, too broken, no way.
Way past his prime he can't run and play,
Then they shake their heads slowly and go on their way.
A little old man, arthritic and sore,
It seems I am not wanted anymore.
I once had a home, I once had a bed,
A place that was warm, and where I was fed.
Now my muzzle is grey, and my eyes slowly fail,
Who wants a dog so old and so frail?
My family decided I didn't belong,
I got in their way, my attitude was wrong.
Whatever excuse they made in their head
Can't justify how they left me for dead.
Now I sit in this cage, where day after day,
The younger dogs get adopted away.
When I had almost come to the end of my rope,
You saw my face and I finally had hope.
You saw through the grey, and the legs bent with age,
And felt I still had life beyond the cage.
You took me home, gave me food and a bed,
And shared your own pillow with my poor tired head.
We snuggle and play, and you talk to me low,
You love me so dearly and want me to know.
I may have lived most of my life with another,
But you outshine them with a love so much stronger.
I promise to return all the love I can give,
To You, my dear person, as long as I live.
I may be with you for a week or for years,
We will share many smiles, you will no doubt shed tears.
And when the time comes that God deems I must leave,
I know you will cry and your heart will grieve.
And when I arrive at the Bridge, all brand new,
My thoughts and my heart will still be with you.
And I will brag to all who will hear,
Of the person who made my last days so dear.

Foster homes

Foster homes are very much needed to care for dogs in a home environment while their new homes and prospective owners are home checked. During this time the dog can be assessed and relevant information can be used to help decide on the most suitable placement. This information can also be passed on to their new owners to help them adjust and prepare for their new dog.
Fostering can be very satisfying as your experience, insight and input is important in finding the best home and family for the right dog.
If you would like to help by fostering for the Cane Corso UK and Molosser Rescue please email us for more info & we will get back to you.

Dogs in need

On this page are some of the dogs currently in need of loving forever homes.

Before we allow anyone to adopt a Cane Corso or any other breed from our rescue, they must meet a certain criteria and will be expected to have an interview and their home will be vetted. We will also issue a contract to protect the welfare of the dog and expect all prospective new owners to abide fully by the contract.

We always ask for an adoption fee, this fee does vary depending on the dogs age & general health.

All of this fee will go back into the rescue so that we can use it to help pay for neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, feed & the general day to day care of more dogs in need.

Every dog in our care will be vet checked, vaccinated, wormed & neutered or spayed before being re-homed. An experienced dog trainer will do a temperament evaluation and prospective owners will be invited to spend time with the dog so the rescue can assess how well the dogs bonds with the people and how the people take to the dog.

We will not place an adult Corso in a home with small children, unless we are fully aware of the background of the dog and happy that children have played an active part in the dog's previous home.

If you are considering re-homing one of the dogs in our care we would like to ask that you take the time to speak to people who know the breed and to be 100% sure that you can offer that dog the correct training and care & of course please contact us.

If you would like to apply to adopt one of the dogs in our care please Email

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Inca is a gorgeous 4 year old Neopolitan Mastiff.

Inca would be best in an adult only household as she has spent several years living in kennels and needs time and support to readjust to normal home life.

Due to her background, Inca has had little exposure to other dogs, but with the right management she is slowly learning to greet them nicely and is even starting to play.

Inca seems to know lots of commands, loves travelling in the car and walks nicely on a lead. She is not destructive at all and is just a lovely girl."

I'll keep my fingers crossed!

ROLO

A young male

This wonderful young male is still waiting for his new home

he is a great lad just needs the right owner/s

to bring him along

Rolo is a very friendly loving male presa canario pup of a year old. and is a dark black brindle with the longer majero hair. he has no known fears and is very confident.  He is chipped and tattooed. Has lived in outdoor kennels but would adjust well to living indoors with patience.  He loves to play and play and play, with either adults or children, although it would probably be better if these children were older.  He gets on with cats but will chase them if they run. He needs to be fed on his own with no other pets around him. Rolo loves to cuddle and kiss, he knows his sits, downs and walks well on a lead.  Rolo gets on well with female dogs. He will be castrated before he leaves here (and will leave with no papers but we will always be available for help and advice with him )  A home check will be done. He is free to the right home although we expect the new owner to pay for his castration to show commitment, before he leaves us. For further information or to visit Rolo please call 07708 602 306

PPypical livePly puppy! She loves tennis balls, rope tuggers,
chews and an*************************** toy going.
She has been in a foster home with several Boxers who took her under their wing,
 allowing her to suckle when she was so young. She has been around cats;
although rough with her play she is not aggressive.
She loves the company of other dogs and is now being fostered with 3 other little dogs.

Bella adores lots of cuddles; she is very affectionate and happy.
She will make a lovely family pet. She has been really clean,
using the puppy pads or going outside but always expect accidents.
She is very food orientated so this will be a good incentive for training.

Because of Bella’s history and the fact that she loves other dogs and company
(she doesn’t like being on her own)
we really want to rehome her with other dogs.
